A book worth owning (decided at word 73, or thereabouts)

Accord, n. Harmony.

Accordion, n. An instrument in harmony with the sentiments of an assassin.

New hypothesis: Terry Pratchett is an avid fan of Ambrose Bierce.

Also, I must own a tangible copy of The Devil’s Dictionary. It’s not the sort of thing an ebook is good for – you’ve got to be able to flip through. Normal dictionaries you consult mostly when you’ve got a specific word in mind that you don’t know the meaning of, but a parodic dictionary, now, that you need to browse. (And dictionaries in general aren’t great for reading straight through, though this would be better than most.)
