The following are poems that were published in my colleges’ literary journals; I wrote them between 2004 and 2005 (age 19-20). “Heidi’s Song” and “Stardust” appeared in 2004′s Phoenix, at my first college; “Sepphoris Road” and “Come Near” appeared in 2008′s Literary Review: The Writer, at Lewis & Clark.
As always, comments are welcome.
- Stardust – a pretty idea, if inaccurate
- Elegy (Heidi’s Song) – for a former classmate and friend
- Sepphoris Road – a roundabout narrative; I promise it has a point
- Come Near – allusive piece for a boy I once knew
Side note: based on a former roommate’s response to “Sepphoris Road” (she is religious & somewhat conservative and found the poem ‘reassuring’ with respect to my position), I’m afraid my meaning in that one is too ambiguous or too vague.
